Agreement to terms

By creating an account or using Venty ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service. These terms form a binding agreement between you and Venty.

What Venty is — and isn't

Venty is an AI-powered journaling app designed to give you a private space to express your thoughts and feelings.

Venty is NOT a substitute for professional mental health care.

The AI responses are generated by a language model and are not medical advice, therapy, or crisis intervention. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency or thoughts of self-harm, please contact a crisis helpline immediately:

  • International: befrienders.org

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Venty. By using the Service, you confirm you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you should have your parent or guardian's permission.

Your account

  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password.
  • You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You may not share your account with others or create accounts for others.

Your content

Your journal entries belong to you. By using Venty, you grant us a limited licence to store and process your content solely to provide the Service (including sending it to our AI provider to generate responses).

You must not use Venty to store or transmit content that is illegal, threatening, or harmful to others.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the Service or its AI responses.
  • Use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm others.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or data.
  • Use automated tools to send messages in bulk.

Subscription & billing

Free plan: Includes up to 5 journal entries at no cost.

Venty Pro: £9.99/month, billed monthly. Includes unlimited entries, AI mood insights, and PDF export. You can cancel at any time from Settings — your Pro access continues until the end of the billing period.

All payments are processed by Stripe. We do not offer refunds for partial months, but you can cancel before your next renewal date.

Availability & changes

We aim to keep Venty available 24/7 but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We'll give reasonable notice for significant changes.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Venty is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including any reliance on AI-generated responses for mental health decisions.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your data will be permanently deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
