Who we are

Venty ("we", "us", "our") is an AI-powered mental health journal app at ventyspace.com. We take your privacy seriously — especially given the sensitive nature of what you share with us.

What we collect

  • Account info: Your email address and optional display name when you sign up.
  • Journal entries: The messages you write and Venty's AI responses, stored securely in our database.
  • Mood data: The mood you select when starting a journal entry.
  • Payment info: If you subscribe to Venty Pro, your payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details — only a Stripe customer ID.
  • Usage data: Basic rate-limiting logs (number of messages sent per hour). No analytics or ad tracking.

How we use your data

  • To provide the Venty journal and AI chat service.
  • Your messages are sent to Anthropic's Claude AI to generate responses. Anthropic processes these on our behalf and does not train on your data by default — see Anthropic's privacy policy.
  • To manage your subscription via Stripe.
  • To send transactional emails (e.g. signup confirmation) via Resend.
  • We do not sell your data. Ever. We do not use your journal entries for advertising or share them with third parties beyond what's described here.

Data storage & security

Your data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL), hosted on infrastructure in the EU or US. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit (TLS). Row-level security policies mean only you can access your own entries.

Data retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account (via Settings → Danger zone), all your journal entries, mood data, and account information are permanently deleted within 24 hours.

Your rights

You have the right to:
  • Access your data — export your journal as a PDF from Settings.
  • Delete your data — delete your account from Settings at any time.
  • Correct your data — update your name in Settings.
  • Data portability — contact us to request a machine-readable export.

Cookies

We use only essential session cookies to keep you logged in (via Supabase Auth). We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

Children

Venty is not intended for users under 13 years of age. If you are under 13, please do not use this service.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or via the app. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent version.
